With regard to repair work (for example due to hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico) and worldwide offshore operations, the client requested a multifunctional vessel that could be used for various purposes: a vessel that was suitable for patrol, repair works, maintenance, diving and construction duties.

The HOS ACHIEVER is a vessel that will be used in support of divers who carry out submarine duties and of remote-controlled diving machinery. The HOS ACHIEVER has been developed by IHC Krimpen Shipyard and based on IHC Merwede’s multifunctional Type 22 series, a design of  22 metres in width. The vessel is equipped with a fully dynamically positioned diving support / remote-controlled diving machinery / offshore construction vessel, and is suitable for worldwide deployability.

The HOS ACHIEVER is equipped with a modular diving installation with a moon pool. The vessel has one or two remote-controlled diving instruments suitable for offshore operations. The vessel is equipped with cranes, including a 160 tons’ crane, a 120/170 tons’ crane with a swell compensator suitable for handling weights up to 70 tons at a depth of 1,800 metres, and a 24 tons crane suitable for carrying people.
